Market Focus Conference on Wearable-Flexible to Stand Out at Display Week 2016
Trends on Sensors, Wrist-worn and Head-mounted Wearables Take Center Stage

CAMPBELL, Calif., May 5, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- The Society for Information Display (SID), in collaboration with IHS, today announced the final program for its Market Focus Conference on Wearable-Flexible, part of the Business Track being held during Display Week 2016 at the Moscone Convention Center in San Francisco (May 22-May 27).  With a focus on "Finding New Approaches to the Wearable Market," industry leaders will gather for this one-day event on Wednesday, May 25 to discuss the latest in wearable technology and insights in adapting to this growing trend.

The brightest minds in the industry will lead discussions in industry trends including: sensors for wearables, wrist worn wearables, head-mounted wearables for AR and VR applications, and display and components for wearables. A wide range of industry executives and analysts will be speaking at the conference representing companies such as Corning Inc., eMagin Inc., Hillcrest Labs, Intel, Kopin, Linear Dimensions, Luminit, NPD, Olio Devices, Quantum Interface, TAG Hueur and Tianma.

Following a conference welcome from SID President Yong-Seog Kim and Ben Keen of IHS, there will be two special addresses on Wearable Challenges and Solutions from Bertrand Dolci of TAG Hueur; along Dan Eisenhardt of Recon Instruments and Intel. Four sessions will follow the special addresses that will delve further into the latest wearable-flexible trends.

Session 1: Sensors for Wearables
MEMS and sensors have been capturing attention in the wearable industry. This session will uncover the latest trends in sensors used in wearables.

Session 2: Wrist-Worn Wearables
This session will focus on the market for wrist-worn wearables, including innovations in health, fitness and fashion; along with the similarities and differences between those various applications and the requirements necessary—such as readability, power consumption and environmental concerns. 

Session 3: Head-Mounted Wearables
The emerging world of augmented and virtual reality make head-mounted wearables a curious topic of discussion as this session explores its market potential.

Session 4: Display and Component Makers Respond to the Wearables Market
An increased demand for durability and flexibility are challenging display and component makers. This session will provide insights to meet those needs.
